Hello,

 

I haven't been able to download any dynamic updates to our Palo VM-100 for a little over an hour.

 

The message Failed to download file appears and in the system log I see connection to update server closed.

For example, I also tried to download an older version of Global Protect, but this download also fails.

 

Interestingly, for example, current wildfire patterns are found, but download is not possible.

Licenses are valid.

 

Are there currently any problems?

Hello,

Check the traffic logs to see if any of it is getting blocked or decrypted. Neither should be happening and will prevent successful download from PAN.

I am still having this issue. Multiple clients\firewalls

https://status.paloaltonetworks.com/ shows nothing related

I opened a support ticket at 1:30 MDT and this is the response from support:

 

PROBLEM:
You have having an issue with download PAN software including pan-os or dynamic updates such as AV or wildfire.

NEXT STEPS:
We are currently experiencing an issue with our content server and management is aware of the issue and working to resolve ASAP.
In the meantime a workaround you can try is to uncheck the option to Verify Update Server Identity in the Device Tab (or panorama tab if applicable) > Setup > Services tab.

Thanks for that information.
I've been looking on the firewall for hours for an explanation, good to know that it's not the firewall itself.
Can I ask for updates as soon as you have updates?

No update from PA, but my downloads are succeeding as of 14:53 MDT
