Frequent "Failed to check Antivirus content upgrade" messages

L2 Linker

Hi all,

I have been used to getting the occasional "Failed to check Antivirus content upgrade info due to generic communication error" from Panorama or various firewalls.  They haven't been a problem.  For about a week now, the frequency of these errors has increased and I'm finding that firewalls aren't getting updates.  Has anyone else notice this?  Have there been any changes in Palo's update infrastructure?

Thanks,

- Steve

Apparently, Palo Alto added a new URL ("prod.itpdownloads.paloaltonetworks.com") recently?  That URL wasn't in my "no-decrypt" list and this was the reason that the updates were failing.

Hello,

Gotta love the 'generic' messages :). As long as there are no blocks in your logs for the traffic, then its on PAN's end. I do see them occasionally as well. Its typically a 'cloud' issue.

Regards,
