I presently use a UDMP, and while I'm kind of satisfied with it, I'd like to learn a lot more about networking and be able to use firewalls much more effectively. Hosting my controller won't be a problem because I have several servers.
We utilise Palo Alto firewalls in our cyber security department, and they are, to put it mildly, fascinating. I think I'm puzzled since I don't have much networking knowledge.

Hello,
They are pretty cool to work with :). You should have a basic understanding of networks, ip addresses, ports, routing etc. There is an education section and some is free so feel free to check it out.
