Have a client who is rolling out a global GP deployment and looking for redundancy. We have setup portals and gateways on all of their firewalls and everything is working great from being able to connet to the right gateway to being able to choose different gateways.
We have now started discussing HA for the portal FQDN itself as this seems to be another current single point of failure since they were only planning to use one FQDN initially. To avoid this it seems the solution would either be a managed DNS solution with monitoring and failover (not their preferred method) or just having the users have a backup FQDN to go to a different portal in the event the primary portal is inaccessible.
This led to the question of how to configure this backup FQDN on all of their users endpoints. I have investigated the "Deploy App settings transparently" option in the configuration guide, and I see where I can specify the Global Protect portal, but I don't see how to specify multiple portals. Is this possible, or do the users all have to manually enter the backup portal into their configs?

The portals are listed as keys in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palo Alto Networks\GlobalProtect\Settings\your.portal.com
you can push this out via group policy.
but the panGPS service may need to be restarted for it to be included, or of course... a reboot..
