HA2 Primary HCSI - does backup HA2 over Ethernet require an IP Address

L0 Member

Hi all,

If your using the HCSI for HA2, but using an ethernet port for HA2 Backup, is an IP required for the backup port since it's using a data port?

Thanks!

Hi @jeffsp ,

No.  You do not need an IP address for HA2 backup.  You can use Ethernet transport.  Obviously, the HA2 backup ports should be directly connected or on the same VLAN.

Thanks,

Tom

hi @jeffsp

You don't need IP address, the HA2 works in Layer 2
