How to Check if an Application Needs Explicitly Allowed Dependency Apps

L1 Bithead

Hi,

I am migrating from blue coat web proxy appliances and will be using Palo url filtering.  How do us the Palo as an explicit Proxy, as all end users have GPO based proxy settings.

thank you

Palo Alto is NOT  web proxy server but a web filtering firewall.  You will need to remove the proxy settings placed into the browser when you make the switch from a proxy server like bluecoat to Palo Alto.

The Palo Alto inspects TRANSIT traffic for the url that is being requested.  So you setup your routing from the clients to the internet to pass through the Palo Alto.  then have rules with the desired web filtering applied to the traffic.
