Identify custom application

L4 Transporter

Hi,

we have created a custom application ports tcp/1524-1541, but our Palo Alto is still identifying this app as ORACLE. Why is not taking our custom app?

Hi,

We nedd to create a custom application without timeout and with these ports tcp/1521-1541. We did it but PA is still identying this app like ORACLE not our custom.

i attach the config custom app

Hi Jesus

If you do not set any signatures and the underlying application is a known application (like oracle) AppID will give preference to the known application.

The solution is to either create signatures so AppID can positively identify the oracle traffic, or use App Override, as described in the articles i mentioned above, to force identification to your custom app
