Inaccessibility of PAN-OS after Upgrade to Version 10.2.0

L0 Member

After the recent upgrade of PAN-OS from version 10.1.11 to version 10.2.0 on my Palo Alto 820 device, I am facing significant issues. The appliance is not recognizing administrator credentials after the upgrade is complete.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi @ThiagoBarbosa ,

Are you still having issues? Are you able to SSH into the device? It could be that the Palo hasn't completed initializing yet. If you ssh into the Palo, which login prompt do you see?

I am having the same problem.  I just upgraded from 10.1.14 to 10.2.  I can ssh with full access and not able to log in via web gui with local or radius creds.

@JohnLiberty -- Firstly 10.2.X is nearing death's door and is on extended life support.  Did you upgrade to 10.2.0?  Did you look at the release notes / "known-issues" / bugs?  If you upgraded to 10.2.0 I would suggest this is likely your issue.  I would read the release notes as my guess is this is a bug.  Alternatively you can try upgrading a a more current OS like 11.1.X and see if that resolves your issue.  All else fails, support case.

Thanks for the response Brandon.  I agree with you that 10.2 is very old, but it was only put on to jump it to the next level following what the KBs said for the upgrade path from 9.0 to 11.x.  The problem cleared on its own actually.  It just took twice as long to be able to log back in via the gui then normal.

@JohnLiberty  -- Oh ok.  Good to hear things cleared up for you.
