Is it possible to assign ip address to tunnel interface while using for s to s vpn? if yes,.. what ip needs to be used? I am trying to do PBF to tunnel interface for which we need IP address assigned to tunnel interface.
Yes, it is possible to assign IP address to tunnel interface for S-to-S VPN. If you configure the tunnel interface with an IP address and a separate security zone, you will have more clarity on the tunnel traffic.
Commonly use an IP address on a tunnel interface when:
a) Using VPN tunnel monitoring, ie pinging from the tunnel interface to a destination behind the remote peer
b) Using dynamic routing protocols to learn routes via the tunnel interface. We cannot have an unnumbered tunnel interface to participate in dynamic routing.
