L3 setup for DMZ link

L0 Member

I currently have the following setup.  Two PA's in active-passive with an L3 interface configured with zone DMZ-Web connected into a single switch.  That same switch is connected to a VM host that is also in an active-passive configuration.  The problem here is that the switch is a single point of failure.  If we put in a second switch, can I aggregate another L3 interface and have that connect to the second switch? If one switch goes down will that allow traffic to pass over the other switch?  Is there anything I'm missing here?  Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Ian,

Traffic will be balanced between all the aggregated ports (using the last 3 bits of session), they will all be active.

You cannot choose to have some interfaces acting as backup.

Ok, so traffic will be balanced over each link, but if one link goes down the Palto will just send all traffic over the one link that is up, correct?

That is correct
