Management interface is down.

L1 Bithead

I found on my firewall that management interface is not able to communicate with LDAP server and so on. From the GUI it look everything is configured correctly but when I switched to CLI, I found that management interface is down.

Link status:
  Runtime link speed/duplex/state: unknown/unknown/down
  Configured link speed/duplex/state: auto/auto/auto

How can I turn this interface on? As I don't find the state option like for ethernet interfaces. Thank you for help

Check the other side of the connection where MGMT interface is connected?

Was it working before?

Also try to reseat the cable on both sides

Hello,

I think that "Management interface" is just some kind of virtual interface of the firewall.

So not sure which cable to check. This firewall has only two cables connected. One for internal network which is also default gateway for the management interface, and this interface is working fine. And outside interface connected to internet which is also working.

@Henley

What is the Model of the firewall?

Is it VM or physical?

it is Physical PA-220

@Henley

Please check physical interface of PA.

Management  Interface is physical interface of the firewall.
