Hello all. We are trying to load the mib files into SolarWinds/Orion and it doesn't like the .my extension on the files provided at https://support.paloaltonetworks.com/index.php?option=com_pan&task=dl_tech_doc&filename=PAN-MIB-MODU...
Has anyone experienced this? Is this a SolarWinds/Orion issue or can the file extension be changed?
thnks in advance

So after all of this we found that Orion/SolarWinds latest mib db has the mibs for the PaloAlto products. So no mib import was necessary after we upgraded the mib db. However in leaving the OID field in the SNMP VIEW Setup (on the 5050/5020) blank, as instructed, we could not querry any mibs. So in testing we entered 1.3.6 and lo and behold all mibs are now available to Orion/SolarWinds.

Hello,
We do not have direct support for the Solarwinds or Orion products.

Questions:
If it does require .cmi or .cds files, you may want to load the .my file in a MIB browser like "ManageEngine MibBrowser". Its default settings will generate .cmi and .cds file formats when the .my MIB file is loaded.
This forum thread may also provide you with useful information about loading MIBs in Orion. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/forums/48/network-management/9/orion-network-performance-monitor/2011/h...

That's good to know. The link I posted in my previous post sounded like Solarwinds includes other vendors MIBs in their product instead of allowing end-users to load them directly. It makes sense that the OID field required that you enter .1.3.6 since this is essentially the "root" for all OIDs. I'm glad to hear you were able to get this to work.

Strange... It looks like the system put my previous reply under another user's account. I've deleted that odd post and re-posted so it shows up as being from me.
