Overriding Panorama Template settings

L4 Transporter

I am reading in the Admin guide on the specifics of the Panorama and creation of templates.

To override device and network setting applied by a template, you simply change to the device context, or access the device directly, navigate to the desired setting and then click the

Override button. The setting will be copied to the local configuration of the device and will no longer be controlled by the template. You can also revert the change by clicking the Restore button and the setting will once again be inherited from the template.

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I added my PA200 device to the FW, went to the context menu, and tried different locations that could be changed by a template (like any of the Setup option (Mgmt, Operations, Services, etc) and I am NOT seeing any button called Override or Restore.

The second thing I looked at (according to the paragraph above, is go directly to my FW's webui, and look for an Override/Restore button.

I also searched in the Admin Guide for 5.0 for Override or Restore, but I did not see any mention.

I just think I am looking in the wrong location, as this is a new feature in 5.0.

Perhaps someone more seasoned can give me the exact step by step to see this Override or Restore button?

.

Ok....

I resolved this myself.

May seem like a minor recommendation, but how about you put inside of the Admin guide that you need to push down your template FIRST, before you attempt to override it.  :smileysilly:

I was thinking that I could save my template settings, then go to the Context of my FW, and override the settings that the template config had on it....

Documentation could be a little more detailed or explanatory on this....
