PA3020 fans always running at 100% speed?

L3 Networker

First thing I noticed when I plugged this in was that it's very loud. Normally a device spins down the fans when it's at a cool temperature (which is pretty much all servers and appliances from the last 10 years).

So is there any way to change the fan speed?

If not, can I request this feature?

Here are some rpm numbers for other models:

HI,

Could you please update below mentioned command's output from your firewall..

Thanks

Ouch... so this is considered normal? Mine is currently running around 13,400 RPM average, and temps are between 27C and 35C.

This is the output:

HI,

Yes, it looks like normal. I have taken an o/p from the same platform as mentioned below.

Hi,

If RPM is the only concern, then it is fine. But if the fan is making noise then it might be a different issue. Ideally, during initial boot-up process the fan will rotate at a high speed and after some time it comes to a normal state ( after completing the bootup process).

Thanks

Gantait

It seems a bit excessive. Each fan is about 60 decibels (total about 70-72 dB)

And it stays the same RPM speed during boot up as when it is idle.

Let me check the same into my Lab and accordingly will update you.

Thanks

Gantait

I bought one PA 3020 yesterday it is almost brand new but so much fan noise.

Will check the RPM values later today.

IS there anyway we can shutdown few fans?

What causes the high fan noise?

some hardware break inside the PA?
