PAN-200 upgrade to 7.0

L0 Member

For some reason, I had to RMA my PAN-200 which is used to demonstrate PAN-OS features. My previous box was 7.0.3 but before the upgrade between 7.0.2 to 7.0.3, I noticed that 7.0.0 was no longer available in the Software list in the Device tab.

The new box arrived with a version 5 which I upgraded to version 6.0.0 which unlocked 6.1 and then I upgraded to 6.1.7 but there is no 7.0.

I tried to use http://suport.paloaltonetworks.com and go to the Software Updates > tabs. I downloaded version 7.0.3 and uploaded it on the PAN but it requires 7.0.0 to run which is not available on this site.

Question is : Is there a way to upgrade to 7.0 the PAN-200 ?

7.0 was taken down because of a bug.

Use 7.1 instead as base image.

Thanks for the info.

I manualy upgrade to 7.0.1, downloading the software from the support web site and then on the web-UI, I was able to upgrade to 7.0.3.

Can you upgrade a PA 200 wich verion 5.x to version 7.x without an active PAN DB licenses?

Software upgrade does not affect licenses.

You probably can't jump directly from 5 to 7 but have to jump through few versions in between (latest that is visible after you click Check Now  in Device > Software).

Future licences is not a requirement, support license is a requirement.  But still possible to do it manually if you do have access to the palo support portal.
