My 5060 fans are running at full speed at all times. I attempted to run the follow command "set system setting fan-mode auto" in Operation and Configure mode and it will not work. Getting the "invalid syntax" error.
Any thoughts???

the fans on the larger chassis will always run at full speed to keep the unit at optimal temperature
the fan-mode command only works on the PA-200 to make it more quiet in case it is running in the office rather than in a datacenter

Any way to "hack" around that? Full speed fans are overkill and unnecessary.

not that i'm aware of. Is there a use case for keeping the fan speed down ?
you could reach out to your sales contact so they can create a feature request to have this added to larger chassis

I believe that the assumption is that while the PA-200 may be setup on a shelf in an office, where you would want the fans spinning up only if they actually need to be, everything larger would likely be mounted in a rack and put in a data closet or a DC. To my knowlege there is no fan controller onboard any of the larger units, meaning that the fan is either on an on or off state.
