Hi,
I pressed "M" while booting and i am not getting the console after that.
Kindly someone help me to resolve this issue.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, i am not getting any display at all. I pressed M during booting from that time onwards, i am unable to see any text message itself.
Note: This firewall was used one, where in i tried for maintain mode by pressing M.
Kindly let me know how to get console display.

What are you trying to accomplish on holding M during the boot process? The process to get into maintenance mode was described by @TranceforLife. Have you tried to simply restart the device after you held 'm' by pulling the power and just starting it up again?

Hi,
yes i restarted, after that but i am not getting any display in my console(hyperterminal) or putty.
Kindly let me know if any other procedure to get console as i am new to palo alto.

This is what you have to do:
1) Connect your PC to the CONSOLE port on the PA (l am using USB to serial adapter)
2) Open Windows CMD and type mode then enter:
3) Open PuTTY, change to the serial and YOUR console number in the session as per picture. You now should see console output:
If you don't most likely device is for "spares or repairs" :0 From where did you buy this device? Are you sure it is working or was working?

if you don't see anything at all, you may need to verify your terminal settings are correct: set the terminal emulator to 9600baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, parity none, VT100.
your bootsequence should look somewhat like this
