Qos Guaranteed

L1 Bithead

Hi, all we would like to better understand the QoS for setting "guaranteed"

The question is: the "guaranteed" is pre-allocated or it's dynamic configuration?

Suppose to have:5 Mbps of total bandwidth available; if we set guaranteed to 3 Mbps for calss 1 this means that default class(4) has automatically 2 M? Or the default calss (4) has a bandwidth that depends of actual usage of class 1 (dymanic)?
thank you all

regards

any spare capacity from Class 1 should be available for use by other classes.

You can also think of "Guaranteed" as a minimum bandwidth, compared to maximum bandwidth that you define.  Meaning when the application asks for 3Mbps, he'll get it, otherwise, as bpappas said, it's available to the other classes.
