Recently purchased 2nd hand PA-3050

L0 Member

Hi All,

I recently bought a PA-3050 from my local auction house. Unfortunately I was not provided with an IP address of the MGMT interface so I am unable to connect to the device. I have gone through some of the usual default IP's however none of them appear to work.

I have connected a serial to USB cable in and gone through each baud and no luck. On 9600 I do get through to the bios windows that you can see in the screenshot, however thats all I can get to.

Any ideas on next steps?

Thank you for the post @AndrewWaters

Have you tried to press either DEL or F2?

If you press F2, you should get: " Enter 'maint' for boot menu".

After you enter: "maint", you will get PANOS boot menu.

Select: PANOS (maint), then press: Continue, then you will have an option to select: "Factory Reset"

After factory reset returns: "Success" you can press: "Reboot'.

After the firewall comes up, you can login with default username and password.

You can follow below KB for management interface setup.

Thank you for reply @AndrewWaters

would it be possible to follow this KB: https://knowledgebase.paloaltonetworks.com/KCSArticleDetail?id=kA10g000000CldXCAS

You should be able to proceed with factory reset before you get prompted for password.

Kind Regards

Pavel
