Hi,
We need to replace the passive member in a cluster. So in the HA preempt is not enabled. And priority in the active member is 100. So i understand that we can directly connect all the cables for new devices and this new member will take passive role since there isnt preempt enable, right???
should i connect first of all HA cables in order to join in HA and take passive role? and then service cables? im a bit afraid that this memeber take the active role when join into the cluster. We dont want unexpected failover.
What the best steps to join new passive member in cluster and not have unexpected failover.
We will also install the licenses manually and upgrade fw before adding to the cluster. Passive node is not reaching internet from mgmt interface.

hi @BigPalo
the device will take the passive state because it's priority is set higher than the primary _and_ preempt is disabled (preempt will only kick in if a device comes online and has a lower HA value than its peer)
so it should be perfectly safe if the primary is 90 and the secondary is 100
if you really want to make sure nothing at all happens while you hook up the device, you can set it to 'suspended' state, which tells it to not take anyt HA actions at all, even if the primary dies
