Is there a way to search for a application within all your application groups? say from the commad line?

The easiest way is to search the apps through our Applipedia:

http://apps.paloaltonetworks.com/applipedia//

Actually, I meant searching for a particular application through any application groups that you have defined on your PA firewall.

from the command line you can show all of the Application Groups with the following command after going into configure mode.

show application-group

This will show all of the groups and you can review those results.

Would be nice if you could filter it or pipe it. Something like 'show application-group filter java-update'
