Are you looking for just a basic ticket system?
I would personally recommend that you take a look at Jira by Atlassian. It's specifically meant for issue and project tracking, but you can grow it to include a lot of other tie ins. For example there are different CMDB systems that integrate with Jira so that you can keep track of assets within the tickets.
If you aren't looking to spend any money Freshdesk has a free teir that works pretty well, but you it's deffinately more of a 'freemium' thing. I know that some people really like SpiceWorks, but I've always thought it was a little bit of a pain. OSTicket is one of the best trully free ticket systems that you can self host, but it isn't really that pretty and can get a little annoying at times.

Hey Thanx for the response. I like Jira and although the freshdesk is freeware it looks fine to me, I will research in depth. Thanx again.
