Testing HA with unsupported PA-200 devices?

L4 Transporter

Hello folks,

I am considering buying a couple of PA-200 devices from Ebay to some testing and self training.

They do not come with support or licensing...

Would I be able to configure HA (lite) on these devices?

Does HA configuration require both devices to be at the same PAN OS level?

Thanks,

omatlock

Hi,

No for HA you don't have to have a licenses (we do have in the lab 2x2020 no licences)  but hardware must be the same as well as PAN-OS. Cannot you do this with VMs? Free of charge. But l actually never tried this config HA-Lite:

A couple of futures are not supported but don't think you need it for the lab.

Just answered OS version question.  They have to be the same according to pre-reqs.

They must also be licensed identically according to same documentation.

Not sure how I will test this without spending a lot of purchases.  Perhaps a training class is necessary.
