Hi ,
If you are manually suspending a device by using the CLI command "request high-availability state suspend" or GUI; it would switch to passive device instantaneously but in case of an event causing a HA fail-over where heart beats are missed then it would be depended on what heart beat interval timer is set on the device.
Below are the recommended timers for HA on 5000 series.
promotion hold time | 2000 |
hello interval | 1000 |
heartbeat interval | 1000 |
max no. of flaps | 3 |
preemption hold time | 1 |
monitor fail hold up time | 0 |
additional master hold up time | 500 |
Hope this helps
Thank you
