Tunnel Interface IP Address Requirement

L3 Networker

Hi everyone!

I am a new learner for Palo Alto

I want my Remote Network to reach my HQ Network via GP.

I am kind of confused whether when I am going to use IP Address to my tunnel interfaces, either on IPSEC site to site or Globalprotect deployment. Some of the video guides uses IP while others don't.

I know that IP Address on tunnel interface should be done when using dynamic routing. But can I ask for more elaboration here?

Also, may I kindly ask for help on how to create a static route pointing to my HQ so that it will use the tunnel interface? I got overwhelmed with all the video guides which uses different approach.

IP address on tunnel is needed for dynamic routing and route monitoring.

Also handy for Path MTU Discovery.
