I have a pair of PA-3020 running PAN OS 8.0.7. I'm trying to upgrade to 8.1.11. Do I have to go through any intermediate version before I jump to 8.1.11?

Correct that is it. The minor code version (aka the .11 of 8.1.11 for example) builds off the .0 code version which is why you just need to download that.
As always (best practice) ensure you update your dynamic updates for all you app/content/threat services on the cluster before upgrading.

Like with any major code version upgrades you will need to DOWNLOAD the X.X.0 of the code you are upgrading to. In this case you will download the 8.1.0 code (do not need to install), then download AND INSTALL the 8.1.X version you want to go to.

Thanks for the quick response. Just to confirm your post, I need to download 8.1.0.. no need to install. And, download and install 8.1.11. Did I understand that right? Thanks.
