URL/Application Blocking

L2 Linker

Hi Guys,

Just wanna ask a few question. I was testing out the URL and Application Blocking. I was trying to block the facebook-chat, facebook-posting, etc.

to cut the story, I want to block the applications inside facebook but not the whole website. sadly, it doesn't work.I can still chat post etc..

so if you guys have something to say please let me know. thanks. Smiley Happy

Hello,

As mentioned above SSL decryption needs to be enabled. Without SSL decryption the app-id in traffic logs will appear as 'ssl' for the facebook session. Once SSL decryption is configured, the app-id in monitor logs should show as 'facebook' or face-book chat or posting etc.

A technote on how to configure SSL decryption can be found at :
https://live.paloaltonetworks.com/docs/DOC-1412

Let me know if that helps.
