URL in a rule

L4 Transporter

Can you create a security rule that allows access from a specific IP address/laptop to a specific URL address? No we do not have the licensing for URL filtering

@jdprovine,

I believe you should be able to still make a custom URL category and fitler on that even without the license, but I could be wrong on that.

@BPry

and add it to services\url categoryurl.PNG

and create it here to add to the rule in the above location

urlcat.PNG

@jdprovine,

Correct, if you do that this should function fine as long as you can actually capture the URL within the packet header this should function perfectly fine.

@BPry

I will give it a try thanks

@BPry

Okay I created a custom URL and added it to a security rule - ready to test

@BPry

It didn't work I must be missing something

@BPry

Does the URL have to be in a specific format

@jdprovine,

Not really just standard PA URL formating. What exactly did you use as the format?

@jdprovine,

I generally leave out http(s) and would simply leave this as mywebsite.somewhere.com instead.

@BPry

Okay I will remove the https:// and see what happens

@BPry

That did the trick - what would I do with out your help? LOL
