Dear All,
is it possible to make a Local Virtual Firewall using Hyper V or Vmware for the purpose of learning the functionalities of the Virtual Firewall ?

Yes Palo Alto firewalls both physical and virtual.

No, VM's are not free.
You can get a 2 hour hands on test drive of one for free though.

Hey,
Let`s put it this way:
VMs images are free, but no logs visible without activating licences (at least trial and at least once).
When l was doing my lab back in 2015 (actually let me share with you) l had no licences. So the way l was able to see some logs was a syslog profile attached to the policy pointing to tftp32 tiny syslog server. I didn't work in IT at that point so that was my best way to learn/do it 😄
Obviously, l am still learning but now it is a bit easier, as at my current job we are providing support to our customers, l have an access to palo lab as well as learning from the advanced community members:)
