when i try to connect to global protect - internal gateway it shows
in yellow
still working ?
does this mean it is trying to connect to portal or gateway?

This sounds like GP is not able to connect. First it tries to reach the portal - also from internal - and if this is not possible GP will try to connect to cached gateways ... and depending on how long it shows "still working" also this is failing ...
