You can actually expose a 'Client Version' field in your GlobalProtect logs that will display the GlobalProtect version the user is connecting with. Just make sure that 'Client Version' is checked under your Columns options when in your GlobalProtect logs.

I've been trying to do it with a HIP check, but I can't seem to get that to work either.
