Constant "management server failed to send phase 1 to client logd"???

L2 Linker

Any thoughts on getting rid of a constant "management server failed to send phase 1 to client logd" on Panorama when attempting to commit?  Issue has existed since at least PanOS 10.2 and we are currently on Recommended version 11.1.4-h7.

Even when I check that logd is running, I may get this same message 3 to 8 (or more?) times before the same commit goes through successfully.  I quit using the GUI because at least when CLI commit fails it is just "up arrow, then <Enter>"

Sorry to say, but my call to support over this ended when the command went through on the 4th try.  If they had waited, I could have added an address that wasn't used anywhere and it would have failed again!!!

Regards,

Eric

Hello!

You're experiencing a persistent "management server failed to send phase 1 to client logd" error on Panorama. Check logs using tail follow yes mp-log configd.log and tail follow yes mp-log devsrv.log, restart the logd process with debug software restart process logd, ensure firmware is updated, and consider clearing logs.

Hi @Eric_Troldahl ,

Thanks for info, Issue mostly happens due to due to the large configuration size. Refer the below kb related to config size and reduce the config size and verify.

Best Regards,
Mohammad Talib

I already checked the size of configs.  That shouldn't be the issue unless the KB is wrong.
