Are Virtual IONs in Azure subject to the Microsoft MANA issue that NGFWs are?

There is a Palo Alto advisory for Azure-hosted NGFWs regarding the Microsoft MANA driver.  Does something similar apply to Azure-hosted ION VMs?

At this time, there is no published advisory for Azure-hosted ION VMs regarding the Microsoft MANA driver. We are in the process of preparing an advisory that will address this topic, and it will be published soon. We will share it once it becomes available.
