Description:
Dear Palo Alto Networks Team,
Palo Alto Networks incorrectly detected my application, Wise Care 365 version 8.0.1.730, as Generic.ml. We submitted the installer to virustotal.com for analysis, which resulted in this false positive.
The previous version, 7.3.5, was safe. In this new version 8.0.1, we make the following changes:
1. Added the new feature "Disk Repair". It checks and repairs disk file system errors, and it attempts to repair bad sectors on the disk by running the Windows CHKDSK command.
2. Added the new feature "Activity Timeline". It utilizes the open-source project VortexViewer, hosted on GitHub at github.com/dot-sys/VortexViewer. By parsing registry keys (AmCache, BAM, UserAssist, Shellbags), event logs, Prefetch files, and USN journals, it generates an execution timeline for the local system.
3. Implemented a brand-new interface.
4. Applied a new digital signature, WiseCleaner Technology Co., Ltd.
We believe this is a false positive and kindly request a re-evaluation. If there‘s anything we need to change, please let us know. We’ll fix it as soon as possible.
