On May 7th, Palo Alto Networks announced New Security Solutions Infused with Precision™ AI at the Unveiling the Future of AI & Cybersecurity event in San Francisco. This month, we also announced new innovations in Medical IoT Security, Cloud Identity Engine and Advanced Threat Prevention that are described below:

  • Medical IoT Security Product Enhancements - We are excited to announce several new capabilities in our Medical IoT Security product that take connected device security in healthcare to the next level. New capabilities that dramatically improve the end-to-end process of seeing and securing connected medical devices for network security and clinical engineering teams. With these enhancements, our healthcare customers will now benefit from:

    • More comprehensive device visibility through improvements in device discovery.
    • Easier understanding of device context and risk through intuitive visualization.
    • Improved efficiency of vulnerability remediation through risk-based prioritization.
    • Unified and simplified security management with Strata Cloud Manager and Cortex XSIAM.

For more details, refer to our recent blog post on Medical IoT enhancements.

  • SaaS Inline User-Identity-based Policy- Cloud Identity Engine (CIE) now supports SaaS Inline User-Id based policies. Administrators can now create User-Id based policies (Role, Department, Region, Manager, AD Group, Cloud Dynamic User Group) from SaaS Inline to be enforced in various control points. The User Section on SaaS Inline policies will not only include discovered users but also all users in the organization, enabled by the CIE integration. Admins can now distinguish between named and guest users. For more details on this, refer to the Techdocs page on creating Saas Policy Rule Recommendations.

  • Advanced Threat Prevention Local Deep Learning - We're excited to introduce an enhancement to Advanced Threat Prevention: Local Deep Learning. Designed for high-throughput environments, this feature analyzes network traffic directly on the firewall, seamlessly complementing our cloud-based threat analysis. Achieve up to a 99% reduction in verdict determination time, significantly enhancing response speed, reducing exposure time frame, and improving business continuity. For more details, visit our recent blog post.
