Attacks are getting more sophisticated and widespread. Cloud adoption and hybrid environments are increasing the complexity of security architectures and operational complexity is impeding security outcomes. Cyberthreats are increasing both in volume and complexity and now more than ever, cybersecurity innovation is needed.

Palo Alto Networks has announced the next wave of innovations with PAN-OS 11.0 Nova.

New Features With PAN-OS 11.0 Nova:

New Advanced Cloud Delivered Security Services (CDSS)

With Advanced URL Filtering we introduced our first “Advanced” security service in PAN-OS 10.1 to address the growing threat of zero day web-based attacks by moving our machine learning (ML) inline. We then expanded and introduced Advanced Threat Prevention in PAN-OS 10.2. With PAN-OS 11.0 Nova we are introducing the following Advanced Services:

  • Advanced WildFire: The new Advanced WildeFire service builds upon its custom hardened hypervisor to introduce new capabilities such as intelligent run-time analysis combined with stealthy observation and automated unpacking to stay hidden from malware defeat advanced evasions. This enables us to stop 26% more zero day malware than traditional sandboxes.
  • Advanced Threat Prevention (ATP): The ATP reimagines IPS for immediate protection from known and unknown threats and will prevent evasive and targeted attacks. Protect your network by providing multiple layers of prevention during each phase of an attack while leveraging deep learning and machine learning models to block evasive and unknown C2 completely inline.

Stronger Cyber Posture With Enhanced AIOps

Misconfigurations are still the cause of many successful cyber attacks, which is why we need to enable machines to address this problem — that's what AIOps is all about. AIOps is now enhanced to help organizations further strengthen their defenses by adopting best practices, remediating inefficiencies and even addressing misconfigurations in security policies before committing these changes into production.

Simplified and Consistent Security

Web proxy support — Migrate from legacy on-prem proxy to a best-in-class security platform with flexible deployment options for simplified security. Web proxy support on NGFWs and Prisma Access now allows customers to deploy consistent, centrally managed network security.

Next-Generation CASB

Next-Gen CASB makes it simple and is one solution to protect your SaaS. It now comes with Saas Security Posture Management (SSPM) to help identify and remedy misconfigurations in SaaS apps. Secure all apps and data and inspect all content and user activity with the industry's most complete CASB solution.

Additional new features in PAN-OS 11.0 Nova:

In addition to the features mentioned above, PAN-OS 11.0 Nova will come with 50-plus new features to help our customers adopt more NGFWs in specific environments.
