Cortex XDR opt disk space issues

L2 Linker

Hello Team ,

Is there anyone also facing issues with opt file system where Cortex XDR directory is consuming lot of space and getting full?  How we can remove or free up space for Cortex XDR directory in opt ?

There are multiple use cases where opt file system is allotted with limited space and cortex XDR is consuming most of it.

Please let me know if someone has faced similar issues and how it was resolved?  Can we assign different file system to Cortex XDR ?

Hi Tejaspatil12,

The disk space req. to allot for XDR agent logs are located:

  • Installation logs: /var/log/traps-install.log
  • Agent logs: /var/log/traps/

Reference Install the Cortex XDR Agent for Linux • Cortex XDR Agent Administrator Guide

You may Clear the Cortex XDR EDR Database for Disk Quota Exceeded Issues (Partially Protected State).

Clearing the agent database is available only when using the debugging mode and can be tracked in the Action Center.

  • To Clear Agent Database
    • Navigate to Endpoints → All Endpoints and select one or more endpoints for which you want to clear the database.

    • ALT+Right-Click, in macOS Option+Right-Click, to open the context menu in debugging mode.

    • Navigate to Endpoint Control → Clear Agent Database.

  • Track Clear Database Action

    • Navigate to Incident Response → Response → Action Center.

    • In the All Actions table, filter the Action Type field according to Agent Database Cleanup.

If the issue still persists after clearing the database, you may open a support case to troubleshoot any connectivity errors or other issues found.
