Hi @JohnvdLinden ,

Cortex XDR have tampering protection which prevents you to modify any file or process used by XDR, even if you are root user.

For that reason it is always recommended to manage (upgrade or uninstall) Cortex XDR from XDR console.

1. Go to Endpoints -> Agent Installation -> Create installation package for MacOS targeting the version you like to upgrade to

2. Go to Endpoints -> Policy Management -> Profiles -> Select Agent profile applied on your Mac

3. In the profile go to Agent Upgrade -> Enable automatic > Only maintenance releases in a specific version > Select your release version

Once you save the profile agents will start upgrading automatically, at the next heartbeat to the console (every 5mins)

Another way is:
1. Create installation package for the target version

2. Got to Endpoint -> All Endpoints

3. Filter and search the host you want to upgrade

4. Select the host you want (or all) -> Right click on any of the selected -> Endpoint Control -> Upgrade Agent Version -> Select the required version.

Is there any particular reason why you want to update XDR agent with script and not utilizing agent management capabilities of the XDR console?
