All the Macs are AD joined and everyone logs into the domain. Problem we are having is that after a few hours the Macs are not identified any longer and the URL filtering stops working. The Mac users are creative and get some relaxed filtering....so they can't go to sites they are allowed to go to that the general population is not.
Is there a script or something I can run on the Mac to trigger the event IDs on the domain controllers so the PA can identify them again? I have tried upping the cache timeout to 1440 minutes, but that seems like it might be too much.
Interested in how others have addressed this.

Depending on the environment you have a few options.
1) Enforce GlobalProtect in the environment to capture the user-id from the agent.
2) Add additional sources for user-id such as an on-site Exchange server or something similar.
3) Setup a Captive Portal. Any non-identified users would then hit the Captive Portal page and be forced to authenticate if they don't have a current user-ID mapping.
4) Increase the age-out for the user-ID mapping as you've already noted. Obviously there are downsides to this option that may not be practical/acceptable for your business application.
