Changing interfaces

L0 Member

What are the steps to move the global protect VPN portal and gateway from one interface to another on the Palo Alto firewall?  We are wanting to move it to it's own interface.

Assuming current interface is UNTRUST and you move it to DMZ interface you need security policy NAT policy as to permit incoming traffic on ports tcp/443 and udp/4501.

If you add tcp/80 then users don't need to put https:// in front of portal but http to https redirect will be sent from Palo to broser.

Application based security policy would need ipsec, panos-global-protect, ssl and web-browsing

Create a new interface and assign the ip address and use the interface for the GP GATEWAY & PORTAL and configure the necessary zone and other interface settings as well.

Now go to the GP portal and gateway> update the settings of the GP Portal and Gateway setting with the new interface. after updating the settings and configurations. Test the Connection of GP VPN is working properly or not.

once you are good to go delete the old interface.
