Configuration Migration between same series appliances

L1 Bithead

Hello PAN Community.

I would like to read your opinions/comments about the following situation: we currently have a HA Scenario deployed in production with 2 PA-3050 in active-pasive mode, both of them with PAN-0S 6.0.4. We plan to replace the scenario with PA-3020 appliances and both of them with PAN-OS 6.0.6 installed.

How should we proceed? Is there any consideration we must keep in mind to successfully migrate the whole configuration to these new hardwares?

Thanks and regards

Sync config on 3050s; bring up a HA pair of 3020s, install PAN-OS 6.0.4 on 3020s; import config from 3050 to 3020; sysn config; check config for errros (compare 3020 with 3025), if all OK, upgrade 3020 to 6.0.6.

Just take care of the multivsys related configuration if you have used multivsys configuration else everything should go smoothly. Export from 3050 and import to 3020

Another thing will be upgrade the 3050 first test the config if everything is working then you can do the migration.

So it will work if we export/import from 6.0.4 to 6.0.6?
