Hi there.

I wonder if it is possible to match an IP address with a MAC Address, this can be done in the normal DHCP in a public interface, but not if one GlobalProtect in DHCP can be made.

Hello Axca,

If I understand you concern correctly, you would like the IP addresses assigned by GP ippool to be somewhat sticky for GP clients - similar to DHCP  server leasing out IP scopes for clients so when the GP client re-connects, they get the same IP back. If that it is case, that would be a limitation on the Palo Alto Firewall for now.

However, i do see a feature request (FR ID: 3550) been submitted to the development team for future inclusion. You can request your account's SE to vote for it so that it gets more traction.

You can also change the registry key on individual client machines for PreferredIP under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Palo Alto Networks\GlobalProtect\PanGPS\PreferredIP.

Hope that helps!

Thanks and regards,

You may also want to vote for the DHCP helper feature request so this could be accomplished using our enterprise DHCP solutions.
