L4 Transporter

Hello,

I need to disable the BFD option, can anyone tell me the best steps to follow?

I also need to know the implications that may occur when I disable the BFD option.

thanks

Hi @Alpalo ,

Where do you currently have a BFD profile applied to (static routes, ospf, bgp)? BFD provides failure detection between two links. If a BFD policy is removed then the implication would be that you result to using a routing protocol's native link failure detection.

For removing BFD, I would recommend testing convergence with whichever routing protocol you are using and see if that is suitable for your environment.

Could you tell me what steps to follow to deactivate it or where I can see those steps?

Hi @Alpalo ,

I would recommend removing BFD during a change window. To remove BFD from a protocol:

1. Network Tab

2. Virtual Router

3. Click on the Virtual Router where you would like BFD to be removed

4. Click on the routing protocol of where you would like BFD to be removed

5. Click on the drop-down of the BFD setting and select "None (Disable BFD)".
