Default security rules, hit count and Apps Seen

L2 Linker

Hi, I'm noticing a weird behaviour with default security rules "intrazone-default" and "interzone-default":

  • For "intrazone-default" I can see how many apps have been seen by the rule, but if I click on the "Apps Seen" link nothing happens;
  • For both "intrazone-default" and "interzone-default", if the firewall is connected to Panorama, I can't see hit counts on the firewall web interface, instead from Panorama web interface or firewall CLI I can see correct hit count numbers.

Are you aware of any rationale behind the above behaviour? At first sight it sounds like a small bug, but not sure.

Thanks

@emyl_79,

I can at least verify that this behavior is present across 10.0 and 10.1 releases when it comes to the "Apps Seen" information on the default policies. I've honestly never tried to view this information on the default policies, but since it's across multiple different major PAN-OS revisions I'd have to say that this is likely expected behavior.
