Unable to sign in to GP - Mac OS 27.0.1

L0 Member

Hi,

As the title says, I can not sign in to GP. Everything seemed to work fine until this morning when I turned on the computer. Everything is up to date, everything seems ok in Company portal as well.

The device appears as unregistered when trying to log in (see attached screenshot), though Company Portal is saying the device meets company compliance and security policies.

I've not made any changes to the computer since yesterday when everything was working. Went through the usual advices like restart, reinstall GP, re check in company portal etc.  IT even suggested to install Edge and make it the default browser, which I did.

I am flying to Asia for a longer period and I am unable to do my job without VPN access. I am using a Macbook Pro M4 Pro, 2024

Hi @popa472 ,

With the provided info it's impossible to pinpoint the exact issue.   That said, I've seen a similar issue when GP clients use an embedded browser for SSO authentication, failing conditional access requirements .

Ensure the setting is enabled on the GlobalProtect Portal so that connected devices retain this configuration automatically.

>> Set Use Default Browser for SAML Authentication to Yes.

Additional configuration which was required for those scenarios (it seems you already did verify this):
- Set Edge as Default System Browser
- Enable Authentication Override Cookies: When using the default browser, users will open a browser tab for SAML authentication. Configure Authentication Override (Generate/Accept Cookies) on your Portal and Gateway configurations to prevent opening multiple new Edge tabs every time the client re-authenticates or reconnects.

Please open a case with support and add the debug-level of GP logs for analysis if the issue persists.
