Existing admin accounts if Minimum Password complexity enabled now

L1 Bithead

Hi Team,

I have some existing admin accounts and no password complexity enabled, so some might not have the complexity in the passwords. What will happen to those accounts if the password complexity enabled now.

Hi @Sambhu21

I am almost certain that it was explicetly mentioned in the documentation that min pass complexity will not be applied for existing users. But I was not able to find it... I will look again, but I believe existing users will not be affected by the the config.

I tested this with existing username and enabled the minimum password complexity and did password length to 15.

My old password was 8 characters and I was able to login with old password.

To add something to this question, what about changing the "Required password change period"?

If the existing accounts do have a password older than the period that you set, are they able to login?
