Firewall Reporting/Monitoring options vs native custom reports

Are the native or third party tools that users are using to generate custom reports beyond what the native custom reports can do?

The predefined reports are pretty good and you can also create custom reports

The pre defined reports aren't bad but one limitation is the amount of data they can return. 

One simple example would be total bandwidth utilization for all users passing through firewall. If that user count is 200 I would only be able to get a subset because the report would be limited to the top 50
