We have a PA3050 in a very simple setup.
1 outside interface and 2 inside interfaces (aggregated).
A few times a week our clients complain about performance. During this time the firewall is generating 1Gb throughput (flat-line).
However, the throughput on the 3 interfaces combined together wont reach the 500Mbit.
Can someone explain what this throughput exactly is and why its higher than our interface statistics?

Hello,
How are you calculating the throughput? The two internal interfaces will never generate more than the 1G, so looking at the 1 external would give the better indication. Also are you maxing out the sessions or one of the other specs? VPN throughput is only 500 Mbps.

Just a thought.

During this Gbit throughput the outside interface (facing the internet) is peeking to a maximum of 300Mbit.
There are no VPN connections in the firewall an di dont see any other spec maxing out.
