Global Protect VPN connects and Jabber software fails to connect to servers

L1 Bithead

Jabber works perfectly inside my network but the second you attempt to connect over VPN it fails. Why does everything with PAN have to be so difficult.

I found my VPN Access Security policy was the problem.  the Service entry was set to application default.  I changed this to Any.  This resolved my issue.  Not sure why though, but oh well.

Hello,

My guess its a security policy blocking you. Check the traffic logs and see why. Anytime you go from one zone to another, you need a security policy. Just need add the client vpn zone to the policy that allows jabber from the trust to untrust network.

Hi stjorgens, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to post the solution to your problem. This was my problem as well. Connecting to our internal CallManager cluster was failing until I changed the service category from "application-default" to "any.
