GlobalProtect Portal konfig update on Windows

L3 Networker

Is there a way to force an update of the GlobalProtect configuration on a windows agent?

I`m testing different configurations but the client would update the config, probably because of the "Config Refresh Interval (hours)"

Regards

Kristian

Hi Kristian,

You can refresh the config on the GP client by going to File --->rediscover network.

if you have the debug level under troubleshooting enable on the client for PanGp Service you will see the following event to verify if it refreshes the config or not

)(T2824) 08/19/13 09:43:52:252 Debug(2227): Reset network discover ready event.

(T2824) 08/19/13 09:43:52:252 Debug(2235): Logout gateways...

(T2824) 08/19/13 09:43:52:252 Debug(2276): pid of PanGPA is 5156, m_dwPanGpAgentPid is 5156

(T2824) 08/19/13 09:43:52:252 Debug(2405): SSO starts.

(T2824) 08/19/13 09:43:52:254 Debug(2446): user name XXXXXXXXX

Let us know if this helps and did the trick for you.

The global protect gatway settings would remain persistent on the windows client, until you disconnect and connect back to the gateway, or wait for the "config refresh interval"

I suggest deleting the GP PanPortalCfg.DAT file located (by default) at the following path. C:\Users\<Windows User>.

This will force the GP Windows Agent to download the Altered config from the Portal rather than using GP config from the Local cache, when a User attempts to connect back  to the Portal after disconnection.
